Who this notice covers
This notice explains how Umber, an independent design & technology studio based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, handles information through this website. For questions or privacy requests, email hello@getumber.com.
When you contact us
When you send the inquiry form, your name, email, company, budget and message are submitted to this website and delivered to us as an email. We do not keep them in a website database. Delivery is handled on our behalf by Cloudflare, which hosts the site, and Resend, which sends the email. Umber uses those details to respond, discuss your project and manage any resulting business relationship. Please leave sensitive personal information out of your inquiry.
When you use Umber AI
Umber AI sends your questionnaire answers to OpenAI to write your brand copy, with storage switched off for the request, and shows the result in your browser. We do not keep your answers or the results. Your answers stay in this browser tab (session storage) until you close it. To enforce the free daily limit, we keep a count of generations against a one-way hash of your IP address for up to two days. To show whether suggested names are free, we look each name up as a .com and .net domain in Verisign’s public registry. The site checks (meta tags, AI visibility and tracking) fetch the page address you enter, along with that site’s public robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt files, and read what is publicly published there; we do not store the address or the report. Please leave personal or confidential information out of your answers.
What happens when you browse
Your browser sends technical information, such as your IP address, requested page and browser details, to the server delivering the site. Hosting services may process this information to deliver pages, prevent abuse and investigate faults. Fonts and portfolio images are served with the website. Optional tracking tools only load after your permission and when configured.
Cookies and browser storage
If you save a privacy choice, local storage keeps an entry called umber-privacy-v2 containing your analytics and marketing choices, a version number and the time saved. We treat it as expired after 180 days and ask again. Cookie settings lets you change or withdraw permission at any time. Saving changes reloads the page to stop previously loaded tracking tools. Withdrawal does not undo data already collected. Your browser controls can remove cookies stored by third parties.
Optional analytics and marketing
With analytics permission, this site loads Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand page visits and usability. Clarity records interactions such as clicks and scrolling, and is not loaded on the contact page. They may process device identifiers, IP addresses, page information and interaction events. We do not intentionally send inquiry fields to these tools. No advertising, remarketing or personalisation tools run on this site. If we add any, we will update this policy and ask for permission before they load.
Why we use information
We use inquiry details to answer your request and take steps toward a potential contract. Business correspondence also helps us run the agency, keep appropriate records and meet applicable obligations. Where consent is needed for a new use, we will ask before starting it.
Sharing and international processing
Email and hosting providers may process information to provide their services. Depending on the providers involved, processing may take place outside your country. We may also share information where required by law or needed to handle a legal claim. We do not sell inquiry details.
Keeping your information
We keep correspondence for as long as it is needed to respond to the inquiry, manage the relationship or meet applicable record-keeping obligations. The period depends on the nature of the inquiry and any contract that follows. Contact us to ask about information relating to you or request deletion.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may be able to request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your personal information, object to certain uses, or request a portable copy. Email hello@getumber.com. We may need to confirm your identity before responding. You may also raise concerns with the relevant data protection authority.
